AWS Firewall Manager

AWS Firewall Manager is a comprehensive security management service that simplifies administration and maintenance tasks across multiple accounts and resources in AWS Organizations for various firewall protections. With Firewall Manager, central security administrators can configure and centrally deploy firewall rules, security policies, and protections across applications running on Amazon Web Services. As new resources and accounts are provisioned within an organization, the service automatically brings them into compliance by applying pre-configured security policies without requiring manual intervention.

The service centrally orchestrates protections across multiple AWS security services, including AWS WAF web access control lists, AWS Shield Advanced protections, Amazon VPC security groups, AWS Network Firewall endpoints, and Amazon Route 53 Resolver DNS Firewall rules. Security teams can define hierarchical firewall policies based on organizational units, specific resource tags, or individual account groupings. Firewall Manager continuously audits enrolled resources for policy drift, automatically flagging non-compliant accounts and remediating misconfigurations according to predefined operational rules. In addition, integration with AWS Security Hub ensures all non-compliance alerts and security events are consolidated into centralized SecOps dashboards.
