Cloudflare Magic Firewall is a cloud-native Firewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS) solution engineered to provide consistent, high-performance network security across enterprise branch offices, data centers, and multi-cloud environments directly from Cloudflare global edge network. Delivered as an integrated capability of Cloudflare Magic Transit and Magic WAN, Magic Firewall applies granular packet filtering policies to all ingress and egress network traffic traversing Cloudflare Anycast infrastructure, replacing cumbersome on-premises hardware firewall appliances.

Operating across network layers 3, 4, and 7, Magic Firewall evaluates every IP packet against centralized firewall rules within microseconds, protecting corporate networks against unauthorized access, port scans, protocol anomalies, and data exfiltration. Key capabilities include stateful packet inspection, protocol-agnostic filtering, advanced IP prefix allowlisting and denylisting, granular TCP/UDP port restrictions, automated DDoS mitigation, and integration with Cloudflare threat intelligence feeds to block traffic associated with known malicious actors.
