About ThreatLocker Application Control
ThreatLocker Application Control is an enterprise endpoint application allowlisting and zero-trust execution control solution designed to block malware, ransomware, unauthorized software, and script-based exploits from running on corporate endpoints. Moving beyond traditional signature-based antivirus and reactive EDR technologies that attempt to recognize bad code, ThreatLocker operates on a default-deny, zero-trust framework where only explicitly approved applications, scripts, and libraries are permitted to execute. During initial deployment, the platform conducts an automated learning baseline to discover all legitimate business applications, administrative utilities, and operating system binaries active across client devices. Security administrators can then lock down endpoints with granular execution policies that prevent unapproved executables, untrusted PowerShell commands, batch files, and malicious macros from executing. ThreatLocker incorporates built-in Ringfencing technology, which restricts permitted software from interacting with unapproved system resources, such as preventing Microsoft Office from launching PowerShell or stopping legitimate web browsers from accessing local password databases. Through a responsive cloud-managed portal, users can submit instant elevation requests for new software, which administrators can approve in seconds. ThreatLocker Application Control provides definitive endpoint protection against advanced zero-day attacks and unauthorized software installations.
