TheHive is a scalable, open-source Security Incident Response Platform (SIRP) purpose-built for Security Operations Centers (SOCs), Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs), and digital forensics investigators. Designed to streamline and structure the complete incident response lifecycle, TheHive provides security teams with an intuitive collaborative workspace where multiple analysts can simultaneously investigate complex security incidents. The platform ingests alerts from varied security infrastructure components—including SIEM engines, IDS/IPS devices, email security solutions, and endpoint sensors—and organizes them into standardized investigation cases. Security practitioners can define customizable incident response templates and dynamic task lists, ensuring rigorous adherence to standard operating procedures and organizational playbooks during high-pressure breach scenarios. A core strength of TheHive is its native interoperability with Cortex, which allows analysts to automatically analyze thousands of observables (such as URLs, IP addresses, file hashes, and domain names) with a single click. Furthermore, TheHive integrates seamlessly with MISP (Malware Information Sharing Platform), facilitating bidirectional threat intelligence synchronization and indicator sharing across the broader cybersecurity community. With granular role-based access control, extensive REST APIs, and multi-tenant partitioning, TheHive delivers transparent, flexible, and robust incident management without costly proprietary software licensing fees.
