Cloudflare Access

Cloudflare Access is a cloud-native Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solution that enables organizations to provide secure, seamless, and context-aware access to corporate web applications, internal development servers, SSH terminals, and remote desktop services without relying on legacy VPN appliances. Operating across Cloudflare globally distributed Anycast edge, Access terminates user connections at the nearest cloud point of presence, evaluating user identity, device posture, and contextual signals before proxying traffic securely to backend systems via outbound-only encrypted tunnels.

The platform eliminates the need to expose private corporate applications to the public internet, neutralizing threat vectors such as port scanning, DDoS attacks, and zero-day perimeter exploits. Key capabilities include native integration with multiple enterprise identity providers, granular role-based access rules, mutual TLS (mTLS) certificate enforcement, continuous session verification, and clientless browser-based access for web, SSH, and VNC protocols. Administrators can also deploy the Cloudflare WARP client to support non-HTTP TCP/UDP protocols while continuously inspecting device health telemetry from endpoint security tools like CrowdStrike Falcon and Microsoft Defender.

Cloudflare Access integrates with enterprise identity providers including Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, Ping Identity, and OneLogin. Common enterprise use cases include replacing perimeter VPN concentrators, onboarding third-party contractors and external developers with least-privilege permissions, securing internal corporate wikis and Jira instances, and complying with modern Zero Trust architectural frameworks such as NIST SP 800-207. Cloudflare Access ensures lightning-fast connection speeds, minimal administrative complexity, and airtight application perimeter defense.
