VAST Data Platform

VAST Data Platform is an enterprise all-flash data platform and disaggregated, shared-everything (DASE) storage architecture designed to serve as the unified data foundation for deep learning, artificial intelligence workloads, and mission-critical enterprise computing. Overcoming the historical trade-offs between performance and capacity in legacy storage architectures, VAST Data combines ultra-fast NVMe flash, storage class memory (SCM), and low-cost QLC flash to deliver exabyte-scale data storage at the economics of traditional spinning disks. The platform unifies file storage (NFS/SMB), object storage (S3), and a modern database engine into a single unified namespace. Built with enterprise cybersecurity and data protection as core capabilities, VAST Data incorporates Indestructible Snapshots, which provide hardware-enforced immutable point-in-time snapshots that cannot be deleted or modified, even by rogue storage administrators, ensuring guaranteed recovery from catastrophic ransomware attacks. The architecture provides line-rate hardware encryption (AES-256) at rest and in transit, multi-tenant workspace isolation, and granular access governance integrated with Active Directory and LDAP.
