TrapX DeceptionGrid

TrapX DeceptionGrid (now part of Cyber1 / Commvault) is an enterprise cyber deception and automated active defense platform designed to detect, deceive, and defeat advanced persistent threats (APTs), zero-day exploits, and malicious insiders inside corporate enterprise networks. Grounded in the premise that motivated cyber attackers will eventually breach perimeter defenses, DeceptionGrid deploys a pervasive, multi-tiered mesh of deceptive traps and decoy assets—including synthetic endpoints, fake servers, decoy SCADA/IoT devices, and realistic breadcrumb credentials—across on-premises datacenters, cloud VPCs, and distributed endpoints. These decoys seamlessly blend into the enterprise environment, appearing as high-value operational targets to automated network scanners and human attackers alike. Because legitimate enterprise users and applications have no reason to access these decoy resources, any interaction triggers an immediate, zero-false-positive alert. DeceptionGrid isolates the attacker within an instrumented sandbox, recording all attacker actions, commands, and tools used while simultaneously providing real-time indicators of compromise (IOCs) and MITRE ATT&CK mapping to SOC teams. TrapX DeceptionGrid neutralizes lateral movement, halts ransomware propagation, and protects critical enterprise assets.
