Shodan Maps

Shodan Maps is an interactive geospatial visualization interface and threat exploration tool powered by Shodan's global network scanning engine, designed to project internet-connected devices, industrial control systems, and exposed infrastructure onto a global geographic map. Traditional network reconnaissance tools present internet scan results in dense tabular text or JSON outputs, making it difficult for cybersecurity researchers, incident responders, and intelligence analysts to comprehend geographic distribution, regional attack surface clustering, and physical infrastructure exposure. Shodan Maps solves this challenge by mapping millions of internet-facing endpoints—including industrial SCADA devices, smart building controllers, traffic systems, enterprise firewalls, and IoT devices—against their real-world geographic coordinates. Users can execute granular Shodan search queries directly within the interactive mapping interface, filtering by port, service protocol, autonomous system number (ASN), organization name, and country code. The interface visualizes device concentrations through heatmaps and clustered map pins, allowing researchers to investigate regional infrastructure risks, monitor nationwide vulnerability outbreaks, and conduct visual geopolitical cyber risk assessments.
