Prelude

Prelude (developed by Prelude Security) is an autonomous adversary emulation, continuous security validation, and threat detection testing platform engineered to measure and validate defensive security controls against real-world cyberattack techniques. While traditional annual penetration testing and point-in-time breach-and-attack simulations provide static snapshots of security postures that become obsolete within days, Prelude provides continuous, production-safe security validation. Operating via lightweight, open-source probe agents installed across endpoints and cloud workloads, Prelude executes authentic, safety-verified security tests (termed Verified Security Tests) derived directly from active adversary techniques mapped to the MITRE ATT&CK framework. These non-destructive tests safely attempt actions such as registry modifications, process injections, credential access, and defense evasion to test whether existing EDRs, SIEMs, and security agents detect or block the behavior. If a defensive security control fails to trigger, Prelude flags the defensive gap immediately, providing exact configuration guidance to fix the blind spot before malicious actors can exploit it.
