Cisco Secure Firewall is a carrier-grade next-generation firewall (NGFW) platform designed to provide robust perimeter defense, granular application visibility, and continuous threat prevention across corporate networks, data centers, branch offices, and multi-cloud environments. Utilizing specialized hardware acceleration and modern software architecture, the platform inspects encrypted and unencrypted traffic flows simultaneously without introducing latency. Operating under Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD), it combines stateful access control, Snort 3 deep packet inspection, application visibility and control, advanced malware defense, and URL filtering into a unified network defense fabric.

Centralized management is delivered through Cisco Security Cloud Control or on-premises Firewall Management Center (FMC), providing unified policy orchestration, automated device onboarding, and synchronized threat updates from Cisco Talos. The system integrates tightly with Cisco Secure Workload, Cisco Identity Services Engine, and Cisco XDR for dynamic network segmentation.
