Cisco Secure Client (formerly Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client) is an enterprise unified endpoint security and secure remote access agent designed to provide seamless, highly secure connectivity to corporate networks, cloud resources, and private applications from any location. By consolidating multiple standalone security agents into a modular software package, Cisco Secure Client simplifies endpoint administration, lowers system overhead, and strengthens enterprise security posture.

Architecturally, Cisco Secure Client installs on enterprise desktop and mobile operating systems, functioning as a unified agent hosting modular capabilities. Its core VPN module establishes high-performance SSL/TLS and IPsec IKEv2 encrypted tunnels to Cisco Secure Firewalls, ASAs, and cloud gateways. Additional modular components include Cisco Secure Endpoint for endpoint detection and response (EDR), Cisco Umbrella roaming security for off-network DNS protection, Network Visibility Module (NVM) for endpoint flow analytics, and HostScan/ISE Posture for assessing endpoint hygiene (checking antivirus status, disk encryption, and OS updates) prior to network admission. It is managed centrally through Cisco Cloud Management or traditional on-premises headends.
