Cisco Cyber Vision

Cisco Cyber Vision is an enterprise operational technology (OT) cybersecurity and asset visibility platform engineered specifically to protect critical infrastructure, industrial IoT devices, and manufacturing networks from operational disruptions and cyber threats. Unlike conventional IT security solutions that disrupt sensitive industrial control systems (ICS) with active network probing, Cyber Vision utilizes passive deep packet inspection (DPI) embedded directly into Cisco industrial switches and routers.

Architecturally, Cyber Vision runs lightweight sensor software within Cisco Industrial Ethernet (IE) switches, Catalyst routing hardware, or dedicated network appliances, capturing and analyzing industrial network traffic locally without adding bandwidth overhead or requiring costly dedicated SPAN networks. Sensor data is processed centrally within the Cyber Vision Center, which maps industrial network topologies, decodes proprietary OT communication protocols (such as Modbus, CIP, Profinet, and DNP3), and inventories connected equipment including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA drives. Cyber Vision integrates seamlessly with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for dynamic micro-segmentation, as well as Cisco XDR, Splunk, and enterprise SIEM platforms.

Enterprise use cases include automated OT asset discovery, industrial vulnerability management, baseline communication anomaly detection, and Zero Trust network segmentation between IT and OT systems.
